Eric Nakata, a second generation Japanese American, was born and raised in Gardena, CA, the heart of Japanese restaurants. At the early age of 19, he worked for Men Bei, a Japanese restaurant in Torrance. He soon learned what the "restaurant business" was all about. Moving on to working for Kamiyama, he quickly learned how to make sushi. He then worked for Patina at the Hollywood bowl and then ventured to the Dodger Stadium where he introduced sushi to our beloved Dodgers team. Eric has been hired frequently to cater sushi for private parties, birthday parties, special events (including Eliza Dushku's birthday party), the Grammy's after-party, the Disney Concert Hall, as well as the LA Cathedral and Ritz Carlton. He managed to do all this while still working as an executive chef for Kotosh in Lomita for seven years. There he developed a network of admirers who kept coming back for more.

He was able to save up enough money to begin his dream of becoming the owner of a mobile restaurant where he can share his unique Peruvian and Japanese fusion of cullinary creations. With the support of his family, friends, admirers, combined with his inspirational ideas, Eric is now the owner of Lomo Arigato. The name says it all! It combines "lomo" which is the first part of his main dish called "lomo saltado" with "domo arigato" which means "thank you" in Japanese. Being a pioneer at heart, with his humble, fun loving, and light hearted personality along with his passion for food, Eric Nakata is living his dream at the young age of 27. He's ecstatic to be able to give everyone a taste of his creations, so he hopes you'll all be around to have a try and see how it is yourself!
